Nearby Places

You made it to Rainbow Ranch!
Here are some nearby places you may find of interest:

Groesbeck

Groesbeck, is just a few minutes from the Ranch and is the closest town. We think Groesbeck is a nice place to visit with an Historic Downtown full of antique shops, a friendly grocery store (Brookshire’s with Beer & Wine), and a couple of Dollar Stores you will find plenty of things to see.

For the best home cooking in this part of Texas, we strongly suggest visiting Steven’s Diner located right next to Steven’s Grocery and Meat Market (about 1/2 mile west of the 164/14 intersection in town). The cost is low, the food is great, and the sweet tea is by far the best west of the Mississippi.

** Also check out Historic Fort Parker or Fort Parker State Park between Groesbeck and Mexia, just a short ride from the ranch.**

From the Ranch gate, turn left and take LCR800 to Highway 164.  Turn Left on Highway 164 (West) for 6.5 Miles and you are in Groesbeck.

Mexia

About 20 miles from the park, it has the closest Wal-Mart. Mexia has an historic downtown area several restaurants, shops and grocery stores.

From the Ranch Gate, turn left and take LCR800 to Highway 164.  Turn Left on Highway 164 (West) for 6.5 Miles to Highway 14 in Groesbeck.  Turn Right on Highway 14 (North) for approximately 14 Miles to Mexia.  To get to Wal-Mart, turn Right (East) at Highway 84 for about 3 Miles.  Wal-Mart is on the right at the edge of town.

Waco

About 40 miles west of Rainbow Ranch, it is the closest big city with a Lowes, a Home Depot, RV suppliers, Museums, Restaurants, and several tourist attractions.

From the Ranch gate, turn left and take LCR800 to Highway 164.  Turn Left on Highway 164 (West) for 40 Miles and you are in Waco.

Remember, we lock the Ranch gates at dark.  If you are going to be out after dark, please let us know so we can make accommodations.
